Maunula is characterised by its spaciousness and 1950s feel. The plots are large and park-like, and there are plenty of forest areas and parks. The proximity of Keskuspuisto, which was established in 1914, guarantees excellent recreational opportunities for residents.

Maunula is a small circular district up on a plateau and surrounded by valleys, along one of which flows the Mätäpuro creek, also known as Haaganpuro and Maunulanpuro. Maunula can brag about its green credentials, as there are 12 square metres of parks for each resident – and 85 square metres if you take into account the recreational forests of Keskuspuisto, Helsinki’s Central Park.
